Young children

Cots and bed

Taking a baby bed or travel cot along on holiday is a drag, so good news: we have them available in P36. We understand that you don't want to put you child in just any cot, neither would we. We have young children ourselves and we use the same brands of travel cots that we use(d) for our own children.

For the youngest, the babies, we have two Aeromoovs available. For the children that are a bit older or bigger, we have a bigger cot available, the Qute Q-sleep for toddlers. We have an extra thick mattress of the same brand for a better comfort for the toddler.

For both cots we have the fitted sheets at disposal (the sheet that covers the mattress). We don't foresee a duvet or other sheets, except on request, as usually parents prefer to bring their own.

If you have a toddler that sleeps in a normal bed, but still could fall out at night, we have an L-shaped protection where one side can be put under the matress and the other side has a net that prevents the child from falling out of the bed. Please let us know if you wish to use this!

Checklist what to bring (and what not)

As parents we know that travelling with young children is like moving houses.. We want to reduce the amount of items you need to bring as much as we can. Below a list of items that you don't have to bring (unless you want to), that are available, and items that you should bring, that are not available:

Don't bring:

  • baby bed or travel cot
  • fitted sheets for baby bed or travel cot
  • high chair (the well know IKEA high chair is twice available)
  • plastic cups, plastic spoons, plastic plates

Upon request:

  • For babies and toddlers we have some toys available, if reqested up front.
  • A small tub to wash the child in the shower
  • A toilet seat for toddlers (to put on top of the regular toilet seat)

Bring:

  • duvet for baby bed
  • changing pad, wet wipes, diapers and small plastic bags for the smelly diapers 😉
  • baby bottles, pacifiers
  • stroller

Child safety

All windows are (young) child proof, they cannot fall out of a window.

Electrical sockets are child proof, however don't let them play with it. Child proof in this context means they cannot get an electric shock by putting their fingers in the socket. If you would insert two metal objects in the sockets holes simultaneously, then you will get a shock.

Bath room doors can be locked, in the loft it can be unlocked from the outside, in the apartment we have spare keys, but best to hide the key of that bath room.
