Parking & charging
Parking in the street
Since 2022 parking fees in Ghent have risen drastically!
Parking a car in our street (orange zone) now costs 24 EUR for 24u, with a maximum of 5 hours during the day. You can no longer buy a day ticket, as aconsequence you have to renew your parking ticket twice in one day.
Parking is free on Sundays and national holidays. To pay, use a parking pole or (recommended) use an app like Park Mobile or 4411.
Other alternatives
- come by train! The train station of Ghent Dampoort is really closeby. In the center of Ghent your car is more a burden than useful. You don't need a car to move around in Ghent.
- park at the train station of Ghent Dampoort for 18EUR/day. This is 5-10 min walking from P36.
- park in a green zone for less than 5EUR/day. You will need to walk quite a bit to get to our home (20-30 minutes) and it might not be easy to find a parking spot in these (mostly) narrow streets.
- rent our garage box at two minutes walking from the accomodation. Make your reservation timely if you want to use it.
Garage box
If desired (and if available) you can rent our locked garage box for the time you are staying with us. Request this early on! It allows you to easily park, without having to search for a spot, and you car will be safely parked inside.
The parking fee is 15EUR/day, except Sundays/holidays. For the day of your arrival we ask 10EUR, for the day of departure nothing. So for example from Friday 15:00 till Sunday 11:00 you would pay 25EUR.
Payment can be made in cash or via digital payment link.
We guarantee that our parking fee is always lower than parking in our street.
The dimensions of the box are 2,25m (width) and 5,37 (length).
Note that the garage box is not very wide. If you have a (very) large car, please contact us, we possibly can foresee an alternative at the same price.
Please communicate your car size or car model before arrival.
Please note that we cannot be taken responsible for any possible damage to your car or possible theft of things in your car whilst using it (or while parking).
Please be very careful while parking, ask someome to give instructions from outside the car, and LOCK the garage box always.
P36 is not responsible for any damage or theft in the garage box.
Electric car
Do you come by electric (or hybrid) car?
You will find many chargingstations in Ghent (see green points on the map below; the yellow ones are planned charging points).
For your convenience we recommend to use an app like Electromaps to find an available charging point. You will need your own charging cable to plug in.
Don’t forget you also need to pay for parking when charging.
